First of all I would like to thank your organization for such noble work done for the betterment of adolescent girls of urban and rural areas. Although I belong to Nepal but during my visit to Chennai last week, i got this opportunity to read about your work in a daily newspaper. Really your work is admirable.
Myself is a businessman but also involved in social activities and related with commercial agriculture development project is supported by Asian development bank. it is a grant project to support rural farmers to transform their farming activities from livelihood to commercialization. I am also involved in child labor elimination programme supported by ILO. Besides above we constructed hospital ,college and community building and donated to society.
I am interested in your video. Although it is in Tamil. But my request is, if you make it either in English or Hindi, we can further dub it in Nepal and distribute/ demonstrate/ the same in our area.
We hope such noble work u must be spread to cover maximum area.
I am expecting your positive response.
Thanks to Kalanjiyam for making people aware of the health issues regarding women's reproductive life. It is easy to understand and provides answers to many of the doubts that many women have in themselves. We saw the DVD and we felt that we should take these information to our Women Self help group members to our level possible. We would be thankful to you if you could send the CD to the following members who work in various villages for the Women SHG members.

Thaimei 2
I received a copy of the 'Thaaimai' VCD. I am expecting my first baby in mid-April. The CDs were very informative. I hope to use the tips and suggestions provided to raise my child.
I would like to thank and appreciate you for the efforts that you are making to contribute to the society. I am sure, many mothers like myself, will benefit from the service that you are providing.
Keep up the good work! 🙂
I had received the next day itself. I had actually sent an email saying I was surprised by the turn around time you people took to deliver the CD that also without any questions & absolutely free of cost. I am really amazed by your service.
Coming to talk of CD, I should that my wife & myself have got the CD at the right time. We have a son named LAKSH and he is 11 months. The CD is fully informative, there is no where any repetition. The Host in the CDs talks about every day life experience which every parent or a teacher encounters but don't know what to do. But the CDs makes life of the parents so simple.
Also, I would like to have at least 50 CDs to 100 CDs so that myself and my wife can distribute to the needy people, to woman's who are expecting and those who are having kids in the age bracket of 1 - 7 years. Is there any where I can say buy these CDs at a Minimum cost. I would like to my part in changing a part of society for a better future
Kalanjiyam will make a difference to huge no. of people and in turn create socially responsible citizens, which is the need of the hour.
The twin VCD on "Thaimai" brought out by Kalanjiyam Trust is a wonderful educative CD. The speech of Dr. Kamala Selvaraj and Latha Mangeswari are excellent. This CDs should definitely reach millions of young girls especially the newly wedded couples. As you have suggested us to send our feedback / comments, so that you can use this to further improve your efforts in making future materials, I would suggest that you can add the development of foetus from 1st week of pregnancy to delivery, in CD 1, in between the three trimesters.
Thanks a lot for sending this CDs and I will circulate this CDs to the expectant mothers in our circle.
Mrs Latha Mangeshwari's presentation in CD 2 on the psychological aspects of the child development during the 1-5 years is very enjoyable and is full of examples from day to day life. The way she demonstrates how to tell a story to the child - the old woman making vada under the shade of a tree and the crow stealing the vada indicates her extraordinary professional skill. It is good she could also highlight the Child Abuse problem to the attention of the mothers. The recording, the photography and the editing of the twinCDs are very good.
Once again thanks to you and your organisation Kalanjiyam,( which is doing very good work, as seen from the March 2010 Pathivugal issue) for the opportunity given to me in viewing the 2 beautiful CDs

On Heritage Club Program
Congratulations on starting the Heritage club and also celebrating the International Women’s day. The Kolam project is very good, and the use of things available in the village and home sis excellent and innovative. This should be publicized in the Magazines like Aval Vikatan, Mangayaer Malar etc. Good Luck to the club and to Kalanjiyam for sponsoring the event.
Usha Chandra
I read your heritage club report and also saw your flier for 'Honoring our Elders'. I'd just like to say that I think that Kalanjiyam is totally all-rounded and that I think its really wonderful that the culture and tradition is also being honored and preserved while still moving forward.
Even though I'm half a world away, thank you for what you are doing!

The reason that their work is unique is their approach is to do service to the village communities. The work that they have chosen is among most indispensable and most needed for our village communities – to facilitate good quality education and good health; towards these the service they have been doing is beyond words.’ Kalanjiyam has not only provided our class rooms with computers, but the facilities to conduct these classes by setting up tables and chairs, and a computer teacher.
- They have also provided students in all our classes tables and benches so that they can sit comfortably in class. - They are providing drawing, Yoga and Musical classes for our children. - Free health care check up facilities for our children - Play materials in the schools for physical activity - Notebooks, color pencils, Color TV for our audio visual classes - Lights and fans in class rooms, electronic bell, slipper stand to encourage our children to wear slippers daily - English Tamil Dictionaries and world atlases for our children, - A woman to clean and maintain the toilets in our school - School ID cards for our students and health card so that students can get free health care ‘
I have seen the work of many NGOs and interacted with them; Kalanjiyam and its members have touched me, our villages by their tireless service without expecting anything in return and continue to pursue the most challenging issues we face.’ ‘Besides the services, Kalanjiyam village committee and staff also monitor to sure that whatever they do in education and health is reaching the children and village communities’. ‘For the service I thank one and all at Kalanjiyam and wish them the very best for their continued service.’
